All services provided by the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of External Affairs have been temporarily suspended today (08) and tomorrow (09).
The ministry said the move was taken in view of the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Accordingly, the Consular Affairs Division located at the Ceylinco Building, Colombo will be closed to visitors.
The Ministry of External Affairs states that inquiries into the deaths of Sri Lankans living abroad, assistance in obtaining death documents and certification of export documents will only be accepted on a pre-booked basis.
You can make an appointment for this by calling the emergency number.
For deaths abroad, call 011 233 88 36 or 011 233 59 42. The Ministry of External Affairs further stated that to certify export documents, one should call 011 233 88 12.
